New, New.

Here are a couple of pieces i've been busy making for Origin.
Both necklaces have matching earrings and the Leaf design also has a bracelet to go with it.
As you can see there is a stripy thing going on too.

A rather nice day out and buzzing bees

Fancy a nice day out in Somerset, well get yourself, your friends, family and neighbours and head down to this lovely event for some beautiful bits and CAKe & CReAm TeAs.
These particular words always wins me over.

I have another new temporary work space.
This time it's my Dad's shed i am sawing away in, joined by many wasps and a few bees.
(my dad's a bee keeper, so i am surrounded by bee equipment and at present all of these wasps. Time to make a giant jam sandwich i think. If only i had time.)

It's the count down for Origin now so i am busy, busy.
I will be right professional for the show with new picture post cards and a card machine.
You will find me at stand E37 and it runs from the 22nd - 28th of September.

summer showing

I have been busy with pen & paper for my new display which i showed down at Bovey Tracey back in June.
I intended to create more such pieces for my forth coming shows so you will be able to step into a complete Eardley world, do try and get yourself to one to have a good look.
At present i have my jewellery exhibited at the Yorkshire Sculpture Park for their summer show until the 4th of September and at The Biscuit Factory in Newcastle which ends on the 31st of August.
If you are about in Manchester then you can see a whole assortment of my jewellery, screen prints and embroidery's at The W Collection, running until the 21st of August.
If you are off on holiday to the south coast then i have work in Brighton at Laste, a rather fine shoe shop and Frank in Whitstable where you can find a whole mass of British talents and a special treat right now as they are housing a show of Julie Arkell's work which also spills out to Whitstable Museum.
I always love a trip to a local museum, you never know what you might find and it generally turns out to be something to remember.
Well i am off for a week in Cornwall for a bit of a holiday and to celebrate the lovely Sarah Young & Jon Tutton's wedding so will be back & ready for much work to fill all the shows i have coming up.
The first one will be a day sale in Somerset on the 10th of September, i will post more detail soon.

Oh peas

Living in the countryside has seeped into my work already with a new range of screen prints on a 'country knowledge' theme. I have also finally made this print with peas, which has been in my head for a long time. A new edition to the 'knife and fork' range. This is just the start though as i am attending a print course every Wednesday for 10 weeks at the well equipped Trowbridge college.
It's brilliant to have all the facilities at my fingertips. Not my usual system of some claps attached to a board printing on the kitchen table, although this dose the job as well.
You can come and see all of my new work down in Bovey Tracey, Devon at the Contemporary Craft Fair from the 10th - 12th of June. It's a great show with lots of workshops and demonstrations so you can have a go at stone carving and all sorts as well as the really high standard of work you can purchase too. If you'd like a ticket for it please email me.

what do you think

photoThis is one of the 5 drawings i produced to illustrate the Christmas sales pages for the lovely Selvedge magazine a couple of years ago. The story to it was 'the night before Christmas' so i pulled out the wonderful array of hand made stockings my sister-in-law and mother have made over the years, filled them with goodies from the Selvedge Dry Goods Store and scribbled away with my little boy of 2 months laying next to me doing what small babies do. Thank goodness he was so good.
The Selvedge team are inviting people to vote on which their favourite illustration has been over the years so, have a look and vote if you wish.

into the wood

I will be showing at this rather lovely pop up shop, Into The Woods which will be open over the month of May during the Brighton Festival.
It opens on Saturday the 7th, with weekend opening hours being 11am - 6pm and Monday to Friday 9am - 1pm. As well as having some wonderful work they will be serving light refreshments so come and have a look and enjoy something nice to eat too.
Mia Underwood, aka Woodfolk , is the lady behind it all and a jack of all trades she is. I am the proud owner of one of her fantastic swan scarf and my boy has a wolf scarf and he has been know to be found howling at the moon whilst wearing it.

Busy, busy...

Here's a photo of some necklaces that are about to be soldered which i made during March, a marathon month of making jewellery day and night in my rural workshop in Wales. I did managed to get one afternoon off with a trip to A&E to have a saw blade removed from my left index finger.
We have now moved back to the West country of England and it's time to get printing.
All of my shows for the year are about to start with my first in Brighton for the May Festival.
I am starting a 10 week printing course next week so watch this space, and come and visit the shows to see my new screen print and jewellery.
I also received news last week that i will be exhibiting at Origin in London this September which is rather exciting and Luster in Nottingham during November as well as Made by Hand, held in Newport Wales over December so there's 2011 set out.
